Following an extensive public engagement programme that began in May 2015, 10,292 alternative designs were suggested and five were selected for ranking in the first postal referendum between 20 November and 11 December. The black white and blue Silver Fern Flag was officially announced on 15 December 2015 as the Preferred Alternative New Zealand flag. |
